Unrelenting dick jokes and a savvy update on an American classic.

Dave: The movie might well have been called: We're White and Middle Class, So We Can Make Fun Of Everyone With Foodstuffs. I'm not sure I've watched anything this offensive and tone deaf since the Republican National Convention. Despite a few well-placed jokes, the script felt insulting and not in that almost-forgiveable South Park way. How was this not a direct-to-video release!? (⭐️)
The popcorn was a damn sight better than the movie. Even with two tablespoons of mustard, it managed not to be overpowering. It's a good recipe to have in our back pockets since we often have both pretzels and Dijon mustard in the house, but it doesn't rise to the level of special occasion popcorn or popcorn I'd rush to serve to company. Joe: Well, that was terrible. The redband trailer released over the summer made me chuckle, but boy, is this an unfunny film. My sense of humor can be pretty blue, so if I'm gasping at a movie's gall, it's bad. The heavy-handed religious message is hamfisted, the f-bombs are so frequent it's mindnumbing, and the racial stereotypes are downright offensive. It's 2017 - should Bill Hader really be copping an American Indian "accent"? Pretty tasteless. (⭐️)
Thank god for the popcorn. It saved what could've been a downright dismal evening. I love the subtle punch of the mustard blended with the salt of the pretzel. And as an added bonus, it's a pretty filling popcorn. No need for a dinner! (⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️)
