Today we welcome our special guest, Ally! Let's get this party sTárted!

Dave: Watching Cate Blanchett conduct was like watching someone being slowly electrocuted. It’s interesting to watch but you hope to never see it in real life. Otherwise the depiction of misogyny and class privilege in classical music is spot on. (️️️️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️)
I swear we’d made nacho cheese popcorn before but I guess I was wrong. The combination of cheese and spices was near perfect, despite the burnt cheese and overcooked seasoning (️️️⭐️⭐️⭐️1/2)
Joe: Ally and I saw Tár in the theaters in October of 2022, and it was the film that launched a thousand inside jokes between the two of us. When she insisted that we have a Nerdery Movie Night and watch Tár, I was totally game. The film stands up to scrutiny, and actually reveals some new layers on a second watch. As much as I loved Michelle Yeoh's performance in Everything Everywhere All At Once, Cate Blanchett should have won the Oscar. #SweetTártzforlyfe (⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️)
I chose Nacho popcorn to complement the mozz sticks I was serving in Ally's honor (#bestmovietheatersnack), and it was fine but definitely lacking in some sort of extra oomph. How have we been doing this for 9 years and not had some variation of nachos popcorn? This was pretty mid. Fine, but not great (⭐️⭐️⭐️)
Ally: Tár (the movie) remains a tour de force as does actual Tár (Cate Blanchett). I wasn’t sure how seeing it a second time would hold up to a more scrutinized reviewing but it does. Lots of Easter eggs I did not catch the first time and an even more heightened sense that the predators don’t ever care about their prey. Even when it sends them to a third world country. (⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️1/2)
It’s an honor to be a part of of the Nerdery Movie Night and even more so that such care was put into the popcorn choice! Nacho popcorn is inspired but I couldn't help but wonder was it lacking something? Maybe some scallions? Some sort of lime addition? Crema? Still delish, but like Lydia, a little off of the game. (⭐️⭐️⭐️1/2)
