A thoughtful "comedy" and a curious popcorn spice blend are the order of the evening!

Dave: Even if it was a bit slow and aspirational (what New Yorkers have an apartment that insanely nice?), this film still felt very real. What does it mean to love and forgive and stick with it? Where is the line between support and delusion? I initially picked this movie because I wanted something silly and mindless, but I got a lot more than that. Even if it was hampered by writing (and possibly by catering to Big Names cast in it), I still teared up a little at a few parts. (️️️️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️)
Joe said this was a savory popcorn, but it was sweet enough to satisfy my sweet cravings too. The Indian spices balanced out whatever sweet stuff (brown sugar?) went into it. I shoveled this in by the handful and would gladly serve it to guests! (️️️⭐️⭐️⭐️1/2)
Joe: There's something to be said about a quiet film that deftly explores the way humans navigate interpersonal conflict. A film that does so while also avoiding schmaltz and boasting strong performances is a truly a feat, and You Hurt My Feelings succeeds spectacularly on that front. Buoyed by deeply felt (and slyly funny) performances by the four principal leads - especially Louis-Dreyfus, who, let's be honest, is a national treasure (and I will fight anyone who says otherwise) - the film works beautifully as a character study and a sharply tuned exploration of what it's like to navigate little hurdles while in a marriage. Bravo. (⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️1/2)
My Ride or Die (hi, Ally!!) sent me two popcorn recipes a month or so ago. One we tried a few weeks ago (#251) and then there's this poorly named concoction. Despite the shitty moniker, this was a veritable dust devil of flavors: is it sweet? is it savory? is it spicy? Is it possible to be all these things at once? Is it possible to taste like Indian food and north African food and Mexican food and Lebanese food all at once? And is it possible for all of those competing flavors to work? Yes and yes and yes! (⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️)
