Helen & Pierce save the day, and we need to have a chat with the Popcorn Board

Dave: For our followers who don’t know, I am a big fan of cozy mysteries, and this film was based on the first in a series. I wasn’t a huge fan, but how could Helen Mirren and Pierce Brosnan go wrong? Even if it was a bit Hallmark channel meets Golden Girls, the movie was still a good time. (️️️️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️)

Even if Joe was a little dubious about this popcorn, the lime and chocolate was inspired. Yes, the popcorn was a bit soggy, but the lime was biting and the chocolate didn’t take over. If we could solve the curse of the soggy popcorn, i’d definitely eat this one again. (️️️⭐️⭐️⭐️1/2)

Joe: I'm not burying the lede when I state that Helen Mirren could polish any turd and that Pierce Brosnan has turned into the foxiest silver daddy (when did he get old?!?). Though I've not read the book, I'd gladly hedge my bet that the film lost something in translation... if only because the book is always better than the movie, There were threads that didn't quite make sense, especially in the final act. This was more due to the script than the actors, who were a joy to watch. (⭐️⭐️⭐️)

Friends, we once again had the Soggy Popcorn problem. I think I might actually reach out to the Popcorn Board and seek advice on how to avoid this debacle. At one point, I was so frustrated making this popcorn that I almost tossed everything in the trash and begged Dave to call of our little ritual. Instead, I persevered. Though the end product wasn't as great as I think the Board intended, we finished the entire bowl. Lime and chocolate is a dream combination, but this could have been better. (⭐️⭐️⭐️1/2)
