We don't know what your cat is like, but we'd be dead within 15 seconds of this film's premise because of our ScreamingAngelMonsterBaby.

Dave: While the Quiet Place prequel dispensed with the elaborate “how do these monsters work?” and “are they everywhere?” pieces of the first movie, it spends the borrowed time on a pretty maudlin buddy comedy backstory. Not that Lupita Nyong’o and Joseph Quinn weren’t great in the lead roles, but as a prequel it fell flat. The scares and scenarios weren’t anything new after the first movie though they still made me squirm in my seat. The tearjerker upon tearjerker in the plot around Nyong’o became almost annoying by the end. Also, the cat never meowed and was seemingly ok being dunked underwater several times but you never saw anyone giving him his hourly Prozac. (️️⭐️⭐️1/2)
I found this recipe which I belatedly realized was just standard caramel popcorn with chopped up Twix in it. It was also supposed to have melted chocolate on top of it too - thank god I had the sense to leave that out. As is it’s overly sweet but the caramel and cookie crunch of the Twix bring nothing to the party, caramel popcorn already being famously both caramelly and crunchy. (️️⭐️⭐️)
Joe: Did we really need an urban setting for the franchise? Considering the other chapters take place in rural/suburban America, I guess... but New York City does reveal the franchise's gaping plot holes. Hordes of survivors walking the streets, water fountains merrily (and noisily) pumping out water, cars on fire... they all don't seem to attract the bloodthirsty aliens' attention. But Lupita Nyong'o knocking over a single book? Time for some carnage! Although it lacks the sheer edge-of-your-seat terror of the previous installments, A Quiet Place: Day One makes up for it with its heart and some genuine emotion, thanks largely in part to Nyong'o, whose "I'm terrified" face (also skillfully employed in Us) is A+. Also the cat is very cute. (⭐️⭐️⭐️1/2)
Boy howdy, is this popcorn sweet. I think Dave chopped up some Twix™️ bars in the mixture, but all I could taste was the caramel sauce that he made. And let me tell you: that caramel sauce was delicious. Due to the overwhelming sweetness, though, my tastebuds could only take so much. After a few handfuls, I was set. Still, it was quite yummy. Just not "eat the entire bowl" yummy. (⭐️⭐️⭐️1/2)
