An action movie for the newly lobotomized + popcorn as a vessel for canned cream cheese icing.

Cinnamon Roll Popcorn

Dave: At first, this seemed like an action movie for the newly lobotomized. It laid out the backstory in the most painstaking, boring detail possible, so I assumed we were in for a Murder She Wrote-like plot: even if you fell asleep for a good portion of the action, you wouldn’t miss much. Instead, the ending was kind of mystifying, or maybe my brain just couldn’t process all the end-of-movie plot twists after the good 45 minutes of gratuitous violence. Either way, this was an odd little film. (⭐️⭐️1/2)

Far superior to our earlier cinnamon toast popcorn, the cinnamon roll popcorn was pretty great. With a few tablespoons of canned cream cheese icing (plus some brown sugar), it was sweet enough to make your toes curl, though that’s not an entirely bad thing in my book. And this is one of the few sweet popcorns that actually tastes like what it is mimicking: those pillsbury cinnamon rolls that you have to whomp on the counter to open. But, much like the cinnamon rolls, you can’t finish all of them without some ensuing blood sugar issues. It’s good as a sometimes snack and we now have most of a can of cream cheese icing to finish off at our leisure!! (⭐️⭐️⭐️1/2)

Joe: I have a shameful (and fairly secretive) obsession with schlocky, insanely violent action films. And I always love a strong female lead. Also Charlize Theron. So Atomic Blonde should have been a knock out of the park. But its steadfast insistence on being cloaked in intrigue actually makes it borderline incomprehensible for most of its running time, even when the final frames reveal the ho-hum ruse. Still, the action is nonstop and fairly brutal, and Theron is nothing less than compulsively watchable. Plus John Goodman. Pure popcorn schlock - appropriately enough. (⭐️⭐️⭐️1/2)

Cinnabon has pretty much ruined my appetite for cinnamon rolls, and this popcorn damn near puts the nail in the coffin. My teeth are veritably humming with sugar right now and I can feel my body inching toward a horrific sugar crash. And if I don’t knock off my portion control issues, I’ll have to go on Weight Watchers. (⭐️⭐️⭐️)
